Indian Army Foils Infiltration: One Terrorist Eliminated in Akhnoor

Troops engaged the infiltrators with effective fire, resulting in the elimination of at least one terrorist. During the encounter, the body of the deceased terrorist was dragged back across the international border by his associates. The incident occurred amid heightened security measures following a terrorist ambush in the Rajouri sector, where four Indian Army soldiers were killed and three others injured.

"Infiltration bid foiled in IB sector of #Khour, #Akhnoor. Suspected move of four terrorists seen through own surveillance devices on the night of 22/23 Dec 23. Effective fire brought down. Terrorists seen dragging one body back across the IB," announced the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army on social media X.

As the security forces continued the massive search operation to track down the terrorists responsible for the ambush, mobile internet services were suspended in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Rajouri districts. This precautionary measure aims to prevent rumor-mongering and maintain law and order in the region, particularly after the mysterious death of three individuals allegedly picked up by the Army for questioning. The suspension follows widespread resentment and the circulation of videos purportedly showing the torture of the suspects, creating a tense atmosphere in the twin border districts.
