In a recent address, Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, reinforced the company’s strong ties to Gujarat, emphasizing its commitment to the state’s economic development. Ambani echoed the sentiments of his father, the visionary Dhirubhai Ambani, by declaring that Reliance is, always has been, and will continue to be a Gujarati company.
During the address, Mukesh Ambani fondly recalled his father’s words from his childhood, emphasizing that Gujarat is not just the birthplace but also the workplace that holds significant importance. “Reliance was, is and will always remain a Gujarati company, striving to fulfill the dreams of my fellow 7 crore Gujaratis,” Ambani affirmed.
Highlighting the company’s commitment to Gujarat, Ambani outlined five key pledges during the summit. These include substantial investments in the state over the next decade, contributing to Gujarat’s goal of fulfilling half of its green energy requirements by 2030. Ambani praised Reliance Jio for achieving the fastest rollout of 5G infrastructure globally, making Gujarat a fully 5G-enabled state. Mukesh Ambani concluded his address by pledging collaboration with Reliance Foundation to support India’s bid for the 2036 Olympics. The joint effort aims to enhance education, sports, and skills infrastructure, nurturing future sports talents across various disciplines.
Expressing confidence in India’s growth story, Ambani envisioned the nation as a $35 trillion economy by 2047 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s transformative vision of ‘New India.’ He emphasized that no force could impede India’s progress, foreseeing Gujarat emerging as a $3 trillion economy.
